  • Iowa update from Mike Knight, Research and Technical Agronomist: Most crops appear to be progressing nicely. The corn is a little behind last year’s development and soybeans are catching up, with most developing fine. The weather has shaved some yield from the soybeans. We could use a little more heat and moisture. Corn having many drown out spots in the field will obviously reduce yield per acre. For more information, email Mike.
  • Minnesota update from Jeffrey Sorenson, Sales Agronomist: Crops are looking good. A nice rain came through most of the state early this week, which will be great for soybeans as we finish up flowering and get into pod fill. Corn continues to develop, with early planted corn starting to dent. The heat keeps it moving along quickly. For more information, email Jeffrey.
  • North Dakota update from Mike Tofsrud, Sales Agronomist: In North Dakota we are starting to see some moisture stress setting in on soybeans, especially in the northern and western parts of the state. In corn, we continue to scout conventional and non-Bt fields for corn borer. Corn progress looks very good, but soybeans in some areas could use moisture in the coming days. For more information, email Mike.
  • South Dakota update from Nick Brandenburg, Sales Agronomist: South Dakota crops are looking extremely good considering the areas of drought stress. The majority of corn is quickly approaching the dough stage (R4). Rain in the western climates is needed to help finish grain fill. Soybeans are in the R4-R5 stage. Aphids are showing up in very limited hot spots. Rain would also be welcomed to help the beans fill pods. For more information, email Nick.
  • Wisconsin update from Jacob Andrle, Account Manager: Crops are looking good overall across the state. Most areas that were dry received much needed rain this last week. We are ahead on GDUs, and both corn and soybeans are maturing fast. Silage harvest is right around the corner as well. For more information, email Jake.
